WHAT ARE SMALL GROUPS?

We (the church) have always done them. For 2000 years, the church has gone from a large gathered crowd to gathering together in smaller groups to encourage one another and build one another up. In Acts 2, we see they gathered around the Apostle’s teaching, shared a meal, prayed and shared stories of how the gospel has impacted them.

WHAT DOES A SMALL GROUP LOOK LIKE?

  • Fellowship / Share a Meal
  • Testimony / Gospel Stories
  • Discussion around a portion of Scripture
  • Prayer

CURRICULUM

Something that has come out of our church’s study of the book of John is knowing the real Jesus. So each small group will spend their time together really looking at Jesus—from Genesis to Revelation. The length of the topics is good for spacing out if needed due to cancellations or needing to spend more time in certain areas. Each week is not building upon the previous so that anyone can jump in at any time. This is good for inviting others into the group!

Our curriculum is the Bible. The teacher is the Holy Spirit. The Small Group Leader is the facilitator. The questions developed for the curriculum will come from these perspectives:
     1) How am I following Jesus?
     2) How am I being changed by Jesus?
     3) How am I on mission for with Jesus?
     4) What does Jesus want from our group and our church?
